The Dealership - Bayshore Yacht Sales / Lefroy Harbour

The following views are my personal opinion.

Maple Leaf Marinas (MLM) purchased Lefroy Harbour Resorts in the winter of 2020. They also purchased 5 other Marinas:

  • Bayport Yachting Centre

  • Beacon Bay Marina

  • Paragon Marina

  • South Bay Cove Marina

  • Wye Heritage Marine Resort

Maple Leaf Marinas have setup “Bayshore Yacht Sales” which has sales associates from all 6 Marinas.

Dave Rozycki, President of Maple Leaf Marinas.

Derek Lubert, Vice President.

The Marina I had dealings with was “Lefroy Harbour Resorts,” the eastern Ontario Canada Ranger Tug dealer. The Marina was owned by the Stovold family for three generations until recently being sold to MLM. Ryan Stovold has stayed on as a general manager.

Paul Cornwall is the sales manager, and in my personal opinion, that is where all the problems started.

The Factory - Fluid Motion LLC/ Ranger Tugs / Cutwater Boats

The following views are my personal opinion.

Fluid Motion started to make its presence known in the early 2000’s. They incorporated in 1999 and had approximately 25 employees; now they have 6 factories in Washington State and hundreds of employees.

They have went from a small volume production to mass production in the last two decades. They have expanded too rapidly, and have too many unresolved issues that have not been addressed causing hardships on the company and worse, their clients. This has resulted in the quality of their products to decline, and continue to decline. Their warranty is also lacking greatly, as well as customer care and procedures to resolve issues. For instance, reimbursement payments to Ranger owners that have been approved for warranty work to be completed by Marinas, has at times taken over 6 months.

I believe that due to the large amount of new first time buyers of Ranger Tugs, the factory is not concerned about bad press, warranty issues, and quality control. They have a steady stream of buyers, so why would they worry?
